With a wide variety of full and partial tang designs this knife sports the most common design, a full tang knife. The handle slab is cut in the shape of the handle and then fastened by means of hex head screw bolts. The tang is left exposed along the belly, butt, and spine of the handle, extending both the full length and width of the handle.
One advantage when used against harder materials or when the blade begins to dull this full tang knife generally allows for increased force, leveraged through the handle against the resistance of material being cut by the blade. A full tang also increases the amount of stock metal in the handle of the tool which can be beneficial in altering the balance point of the tool since the blade is often quite heavier compared to the handle. The Added weight to the handle of the offset the weight of the blade moving the rotational balance point back toward the hand where it can be more easily manipulated to great effect, making for a nimble, agile tool.
